Bullet New research in Australia suggests men should have much more regular sex if they want to keep their sperm healthy. Researchers at an IVF clinic in Sydney looked at the sperm quality of more than 40 men and found that when the men hadn't had sex for three days the sperm showed higher levels of DNA damage. When tests were taken again after the men had sex every day for a week, the DNA damage dropped by a third. So perhaps couples hoping to get pregnant, particularly those undergoing IVF treatment, should be having more sex!

Bullet The actress Helena Bonham-Carter is currently seven months pregnant with her second child by partner Tim Burton. In an interview with the Telegraph she spoke of her battle to become pregnant and her severe reaction to the fertility drug Clomid. Helena, who is 41, is happy to admit she's used both alternative and conventional methods in trying to conceive including acupunture

Bullet Actress Mila Jovovich is now eight months pregnant and expected to give birth any day now. On her website she's written...."I am so huge you guys! I've gained almost 70 pounds (5st) in the last 4 months! It's unbelievable how quickly it all happened, all I did was eat three bagels every morning with butter, peanut butter and jelly all over them, a few boxes of Krispy Creme donuts for lunch and boom! I'm tipping the scale at 195!”

Bullet One in four children starting primary school have serious weight problems. That's the astonishing figure being published this week by a Department of Health nationwide study into children's weight. Ten primary care trusts have released their figures for the survey showing that a quarter of all children starting in reception are obese. The problems continue through primary school with a third of all children in some areas starting secondary school overweight. Apparently the Isle of Wight has the biggest problem with childhood obesity with 30 per cent of children starting primary school overweight. Exeter performed best out of the trusts who had published their stats – with a figure of 20 per cent of primary school starters being overweight
