Smallest Baby Born in UK Starts School

Smallest Baby Born in UK Starts School

The UK's tiniest ever baby, who was given only a 1% chance of survival at birth 4 years ago, starts school today.

When Aaliyah Hart was born 3 months premature, she weighed 7oz and at 7inches long, wasn't much bigger than a mobile phone!

Doctors, at the time, said she was 'unlikely' to survive and gave her a very low chance of 'pulling through'. The Harts had tried for a baby for 15 years and were devastated when Aaliyah was born so early.

Nonetheless, Aaliyah, who was 4 in May, is now starting school and her Mum is now just like many other nervous mums. In Lorraine Hart's case though, she is experiencing a day she never thought she would.
