"lovely book"
I have to say i really like this book. It is beautifully packaged and would make a perfect gift for a mum to be.
It feels like the authors have thought of everything, even down to adding a little bookmark so you know exactly where you got up to ( as it can for some be a little overwhelming going through all the names)
There are so many names in there, but and this coming from someone who has looked at many baby naming books....to me it didn't feel overwhelming as it is set out clearly and concisely.
At the beginning it is broken up into sections,'biblical', 'new age', 'shakespearean' etc which was useful as i have to say i ignored the catagories which were not of use to me, making it easier to focus on the ones that were..
All in all i would really recommend this book. It is packed with names , and little bits of advice which can really help when choosing your babies name.

"A really beautiful book."
I have to say i really like this book. It is beautifully packaged and would make a perfect gift for a mum to be.
It feels like the authors have thought of everything, even down to adding a little bookmark so you know exactly where you got up to ( as it can for some be a little overwhelming going through all the names)
There are so many names in there (30,000 in fact ) but and this coming from someone who has looked at many baby naming books....to me it didn't feel overwhelming as it is set out clearly and concisely.
At the beginning it is broken up into sections,'biblical', 'new age', 'shakespearean' etc which was useful as i have to say i ignored the catagories which were not of use to me, making it easier to focus on the ones that were.. there were then exercises you could do that involve picking your favourites from the lists (with spaces for notes at the back of the book )to narrow down your choices to come up with your ideal baby name.Which again i (personally) didn't do.
All in all i would really recommend this book. It is packed with names , and little bits of advice which can really help when choosing your babies name.

"Slightly too much information!"
This book arrived after me and my partner had already choosen our baby name, but I still thought it would be fun to look through and check out the meaning of his name.
With 30,000 names to choose from and numerous exercises on making sure you choose the right name to match surnames and brother and sisters names etc I actually found this book to be a little too overwhelming. Its hard to choose the perfect name as it is and after going through some of the exercises I began to question the choices I had already made,in the end I decided to ignore the book and stick with the original name I had choosen.
Im sure for anyone who hasn't yet choosen a name this book could be very useful to them it has lots of name choices with meanings and tips such as ways to avoid embarrassing initials. But perhaps had a little too much information for my liking.

"So many ideas..."
I am currently 39 weeks pregnant and I have read alot of books on names etc, this book has sooo many and also lists all the meanings. The first section of this book covers names from around the world, new age and nature names. It also makes you think about the surname and which names go with which surnames.
What is also great about this book is that there are quizzes and exercises as well as space to write in so it becomes more of a manual or a diary (if you can be bothered to do it, i personally didnt).
Worth a read though and would definately recommend.

"Who would've thought...."
Who would've thought that there were so many names to choose from! 30,000 to be exact!
The book is filled with all sorts of great tips on how you can narrow down your name choices, although my husband and I still have half a dozen boys and girls names (we're having a surprise) to whittle down!
The history and meanings behind the names makes a really interesting read and tips about avoiding embarrassing initials was definitely food for thought!!
There is more information in the book than you probably need but it's better to have too much than too little!
All in all it's a great, interesting and fun read

"A bit of naming fun!"
Just when we thought we had finally agreed on a name for our bump, this book arrived!
After checking the meanings of the names we had already chosen, we had a look at the features that make this book a bit different. In addition to the 30,000(!!!) names and meanings split into boys and girls, there are 8 exercises to work through to help you and your partner come to a decision on the ideal name.
At the front of the book there are lists of names under headings such as 'biblical', 'new age', 'shakespearean' etc and the exercises involve picking your favourites from the lists and then narrowing down your choices to come up with your ideal baby name. It also has bits of advice such as considering the initials your chosen name would give the baby.
Other interesting bits include the Chinese Lunar calendar which apparently predicts the sex of the baby (my husband is now convinced we are having a boy) and little quotes about names that are dotted throughout.
The main downside of this book is that it is American and as a result the names have an American slant although with 30,000 listed there are also european and exotic entries.
Overall this book is a bit more fun than the usual baby name book as it is interactive and may just lead you to the perfect name you never knew existed.....we're sticking to our original choices...at the moment...

"The Perfect Baby name"
This is a great book if you do not have any ideas regarding what to name your baby.
I already know what I want to name our baby, however it was great to look up the meaning of the name.
If you had an idea of what you wanted to name you child after from a 'meaning' point of view you could use this book to search for a name under that meaning.
