Running from the 1st to the 3rd of May, The Hop Farm presents the definitive celebration of Kentish culture this coming Bank Holiday at the Kent County Fair extravaganza. Now in its fourth year, all of last year’s popular attractions are back to thrill once again. Canine enthusiasts can bring their dogs along and have a go on one of the many events on offer. These include dog shows, races and the ever entertaining Dash’n’Splash – prepare to get wet!
For other animal lovers there are pony club games and poultry shows, as well as the opportunity to get up close to eagles, hawks and owls at the Extreme Falconry attraction!
Children can enjoy all the usual Hop Farm Activities such as outdoor play-areas and the Children’s Driving School. For a more adrenaline fuelled driving experience, quad-bikes, 4 x 4 and even tank rides are all available in the Off Road Zone! On top of this try out the zip wires, climbing wall and leap of faith in the all new extreme zone for free! If all the action leaves you peckish, don’t fret as the Food and Drink Hall offers only the finest locally produced delicacies, or simply browse the trade stands selling everything from dog leads to garden furniture.
The 2010 fair also heralds the arrival of the Eco Village. In today’s climate it has never been more important to be eco-aware; the Village presents showcases on how to live a sustainable greener lifestyle, as well as cooking demonstrations and exhibitions such as the Space Shuffle. Alongside the Village a new smallholders area displaying allotments, vegetable patches and chickens – the rural lifestyle can be yours too!
