Spaghetti Bolognese is the most popular dish in a new list of dishes us Brits can cook from scratch! The average Brit can apparently cook ten dishes without using a cookbook or online recipe according to a new study into the nation’s culinary habits. It appears too that many of us are more comfortable cooking foreign dishes than standard British classics when it comes to dining at home.
The UKTV Food “Great British Home-Cooked Menu Survey’ of 3,000 crowned Spaghetti Bolognese as Britain’s most popular and best known dish to cook without a recipe. Six in ten of us are able to rustle up the dish unaided and regularly tuck in to the Italian staple at home. Nearly half of us eat Spag Bol at least once per month!
Roast dinner, a dish confidently cooked by just over half of the population, came second with Chilli Con Carne from Mexico in third place
The top five dishes the nation can cook unaided is completed by Lasagne and Cottage or Shepherd’s Pie.
