Sexercise is good for your health - it's official!

Yup - you can forget the treadmill as the NHS has some new advice for people struggling to fit a fitness routine into their busy everyday lives – a bedroom workout.

According to the NHS Direct website, ‘sexercise’ can lower the risk of heart attacks and helps people live longer. Endorphins released during orgasm apparently stimulate immune system cells, which also helps target illnesses like cancer, as well as wrinkles.The advice called ‘Get More Than Zeds In Bed’ states that sex with a little energy and imagination provides a workout worthy of an athlete.

NHS Direct said that their new advice was ‘backed by science and clinical evidence’ and ‘isn't just a bit of fun’. The article goes on to say that orgasms release ‘painkillers’ into the bloodstream, which helping keep mild illnesses like colds and aches and pains at bay. In addition, the production of extra oestrogen and testosterone hormones ‘will keep your bones and muscles healthy, leaving you feeling fabulous inside and out’!

Bullet Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm has given birth to her first child. The singer and partner Thomas Starr announced the news on Melanie's website. The couple have named their daughter Scarlet Starr and she weighed in at 8lb 3oz. The message on her website reads: 'Melanie C gave birth to a beautiful little girl at 4.10pm on Sunday 22nd February. Both mum and baby are doing well.'

Bullet So all that gossip about Nicole Richie being pregnant is true. Number two is on the way and partner Joel Madden, singer with Good Charlotte, has posted on his band’s official website saying: 'I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister.' The couple’s frst child, Harlow Winter, was born in January 2008.

Bullet Spaced star Simon Pegg has announced too that he and wife Maureen are expecting their first baby this summer. The actor told reporters at the Brits that he's 'really looking forward to it. It’s going to be amazing.'

Bullet Kevin Costner has just become a Dad for the fifth time. Kevin Costner's 34 year old wife Christine Baumgartner has just given birth to a son. Hayes Logan Costner weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds 15 ounces. The 54-year-old actor told AP Radio before the baby was born that he would call him Hayes after 'a cowboy character' in a Western which he plans to film. Hayes is the second son for Costner and his wife who also have a little boy called Cayden who is 21 months old. Kevin also has three grown children from a previous marriage.

Bullet Radio Two DJ Chris Evans and his wife Natasha Shishmanian are now the proud parents of Noah Nicholas Martin Evans. The 7lbs 4oz baby was born in London's exclusive Portland Hospital. Writing on his blog today, the 42-year-old said: 'So he's finally here and he is a little belter. .... I know everyone says that about their own but he really is a bit special.'

Bullet Alison King, Coronation Street's feisty businesswoman Carla Gordon, has given birth to a baby girl. King, 35, who was last seen rowing with her on-screen husband Tony, is in a relationship with sound technician Adam Huckett, who works on the show. A spokeswoman for Corrie said: "No name has been decided on yet but mum and baby are doing well."

Sophie had to have an emergency caesarean at 28 weeks with her first Sonny too because she had pre-eclampsia.

Sarah Snowball, 25, had a difficult 15 minute drive to the hospital once they'd dug their car out of the snow. Apparently Sarah is a Primary School teacher - bet the kids love her name!

Bullet It's official - Mums want a break from the kids! In a survey by KidStart, 450 mothers were asked what their ideal gift would be this Valentine’s Day. Over one third of the mums opted for a romantic weekend away. Surprisingly or perhaps not unsurprisingly, the three options that received the most requests all involved time away from the children. Following hot on the heels of a weekend away was a quiet dinner a deux and in third place was a day at a health and beauty spa.Fourth was a card and jewellery was next. Maybe the ladies were still counting the Christmas calories when the survey was done as chocolates came in last place – receiving only 2% of the votes. The hospital staff did not notice the extra digits on ultrasound scans - and did not even spot it when Kamani Hubbard was born. It was his father, Kris, who realised his son had some unusual features. US surgeons have successfully removed a healthy donor kidney through a small incision in the back of the donor's vagina. Taking the kidney out via a natural hole speeds up recovery and looks better as there's no six inch abdominal scar.
Surgeons have also removed gallbladders and appendixes through the mouth and diseased gallbladders, kidneys and appendixes have been removed through the vagina before.
